Meals Dressed with Love is a program that supports the New Orleans local food
economy by highlighting minority-owned food businesses and allowing people
locally, regionally, and nationally to provide a free meal for a friend, loved one,
or stranger. The program also supports and promotes local food entrepreneurs
through the digitalization of the business menu, providing a local option for
pick-up and delivery, as well as an option to purchase a participating restaurant
gift card online, which can be redeemed for a meal at a later date.
Founded by Darrin Cook, serial entrepreneur and renowned brand
strategist for America’s top brands, originally as a way to give back
to his hometown of New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida
that plagued the city in September 2021. Darrin was determined
to do something that would spell relief for people who were
suffering and generate sales for food-related businesses
that were hurting for revenue. The program is in proud
partnership with My Mogul Media, BypassLines, and
New Orleans Business Alliance (NOLABA).
This initiative also helps the chefs,
who were already trying to recover
from the blows of COVID-19.
